If you have high blood pressure(hypertension), you may be wondering what the best time of day is to check it yourself, and what time of day is the blood pressure highest or lowest.
Clinical data show that more than 70% of people have two peaks and valleys of blood pressure:
- The time between 6am to 10am is the first blood pressure peak; 12pmto 1 pm is the first valley;
- The time between 4pm to 6pm is the second peak; 1am to 2am is the lowest point of the whole day, which is the second valley.
When measuring blood pressure, it is recommended to take the blood pressure during the peak time.
Note: If you started taking blood pressure medications(antihypertensive)at very beginning or has just adjusted the drug, it is recommended to take the blood pressure during the time after getting up and before breakfast,and before bedtime.
